This Wednesday, the Irish people will discover exactly what is in store for their finances when Budget 2013 is revealed. Here at ThePotato.ie, we’ve been keeping a close on on leaked reports and information so that you can stay ahead of the curve when it comes to this important issue.
Here, is a quick preview of what’s in store for the up and coming budget:
1: Homeless Tax
The government plan on taxing the homeless, since it’s an entirely cash based business. Registration fees will also be introduced, similar to the model used with buskers in town. Homeless people will have to hold permits allowing them to beg on the streets of Dublin.
2: Communion and Confirmation Money
Budget 2013 will see measures to tax children’s communion and confirmation money. Revenue has never had any declarations from income derived from these religious ceremonies and are planning a crackdown on them in the new year.
3: Overhaul the Medical Card
The medical card system, which current costs the government over €1.6 Billion is to be entirely scared. The medical cards are now to be replaced with Get Well Soon cards from Hallmark.
4: Selling State Assets
The Government also plan on raising revenue from the sale of state assets. One in particular will be the sale of Dublin Bus to Ryanair.
