Terminator first hit the cinema screens in back 1984. The movie was directed by James Cameron and made Arnold Schwarzenegger an international household name, after playing the time traveling killing machine.
But now it seems, as is happening with all the classic movies, the Terminator series is to get a remake and the new production team have cast Tallafornia star Cormac Branagan as the new cybernetic organism.
The production team were looking for a muscular leading man, with robotic like social skills to fill the main part and make the character as believable as possible. Cameron and Jonathan Mostow (director of the Terminator 3) will begin filming the remake in summer 2013 and in a joint statement released on their website commented;
We’re really excited about working on the remake of The Terminator. We know it will be a huge challenge to match the original, but we’re determined to not only match it, but better it. And now that Branagan has agreed to take the part, everything is falling into place to help make this one of the greatest remakes ever. He’s the perfect leading man to play a rigid, cold and inhuman futuristic killing machine and we’re really looking forward to filming next year.
Branagan is said to be delighted with the new role, but was unavailable to comment as he was preoccupied with bench pressing a horse while showering himself in Grey Goose Vodka.
