Written by Irishman Dave Tynan and staring Sarah and Steve star Emmet Kirwan, Just Saying is a short movie, shot around the quiet streets of Dublin, about the challenges and hardship that is placed upon young Irish people when faced with the decisions around emigration.

Many have found the short, poetic film, moving and emotional and since it’s release online over Xmas, it has gone viral and clocked up over 200,000 views. But more success is apparently on the cards, as it’s being taken up by Hollywood writer and director, James Cameron.

Changes

The new version of Just Saying, will be slightly altered to meet the needs of an international viewing audience. Kirwan will still take the lead role in the film, but this time it will see him walk through Dublin late at night and accidentally witness a time travelling cybernetic vampire, take the craic and banter from the streets of Dublin and transport it to Australia, 50 years in the future, through a space-time portal.

The 5 minute film will follow Kirwan’s character as he reluctantly travels through the porthole and into the Australia of the future, where he finds his friends, along with the craic of the nation being held in a protected computer fortress, guarded by giant Na’vi and Terminators.

Story

The story sees the protagonists struggle to come to terms with his responsibility and destiny to be the one who restores the banter and craic to a nation. A young, fearful Irish man must confront his innate dilemas, his personal demons and come to terms with being an outsider in a world where craic is banned, all while adjusting to life in the future, never knowing if he will ever be able to return to his own time.

The new film will be released early 2014 and is reported to have several hundred million dollars backing it and a host of top celebrity stars featuring in it.

A story of hope and dispair, love and hate, pasts, presents and futures, the remade Just Saying film will certainly be an emotional roller-coaster  pulling on the heartstrings of many, all while being brought into the 21st century with mindblowing special effects and 3D footage.
