Man Stable After Falling From Job Bridge

A 24 year old college graduate, who fell while trying to cross the Job Bridge, is said to be stable and slowing making a recovery.

Conor McDonnell had to be air lifted from the abyss  in a rescue operation that lasted several hours and involved the Fire Service and the Mountain Rescue Service, who had to deploy their air ambulance to pry the man away from the dark pits that lay underneath the recently built job bridge.

Declan O’Toole from the Mountain Rescue Service commented that:

“This isn’t the first time there has been an accident on the bridge. It’s very unsafe, built on very shaky foundations and with very little safety equipment installed. The bridge actually looks like it goes somewhere when you first go on it, but it is in fact connected to nothing. Something that should really be sign posted early on.”

Critics

Many critics of the bridge have claimed that it’s dangerous and should not have been built in the first place – especially when it wasn’t ever connected to anything and built on an Indian burial ground.

Conor McDonnell commented earlier about his reasons for travelling across the bridge:

“I wanted to go somewhere in life you know? So, I heard about the job bridge being advertised and it sounded like a good idea. I thought it might actually lead someone, but I guess I found out the hard way that it didn’t.”

People have now been advised to think carefully about trekking across the bridge. Mountain Rescue have informed people that it’s a very long bridge, with no rest stops or food outlets and does not actually lead to anywhere. There is a steep drop at the end of it that isn’t visible at the beginning of the bridge.
