Tiger Woods recaptured the coveted No.1 spot in international golf this week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational at Bay Hill, snatching it from the boy-wonder and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.
Rory himself was not in competition that day as he was off watching his girlfriend Caroline Wozniacki, play tennis in the Sony Open in Miami. Now, while McIlroy may put Tiger’s succession down to him not bothering to play that day, Woods himself is actually thanking Rory and the other successful Irish players for the inspiration that has saved his golfing career.
Yes, Tiger has gone “Paddy”. He told The Potato exclusively today, “It seemed simple enough. All your guys like Rory, Padraig and Shane are doing so well I thought I’d try their lifestyle and see what happens”. And it would seem to be working. “Yeah, I can’t get enough of your bacon and cabbage washed down with TK lemonade. You guys will like this one; I’m eating at least 20 POTATOES a day too”.
Woods has been stocking up his iPod with Wolfe Tones and Clancy Brothers albums, while swapping his favoured expensive coffee for Barry’s tea. It’s also rumoured Fair City has been spotted on his iPad.
All that’s left now is for Tiger to land himself an Irish cailin. Of course Rory’s ex Holly Sweeney is said to be available.
So it would appear Rory should be acting more Hollywood-Belfast than Hollywood-L.A.
