Brian O’Regan, 26 from Sligo, began feeling sick several days ago and rather than go to a doctor, he thought he would make the wise decision to save some money and Googled the current symptoms he was displaying.
Brian developed a temperature, along with headaches, the chills, nausea, a sore throat and a cough. Initially he thought it was nothing more than the flu, but after landing himself on the Ebola Virus Symptoms page on Wikipedia, he discovered the awful truth, that he had in fact contracted the fatal virus.
Commenting earlier to The Potato Brian said:
I was shocked. I just thought I would need some bed rest, a hot water bottle and some vitamin C or something – turns out I’ve about 12 days to live. I’d go to a doctor, but there’s no point now is there. I just want to spend the last few days I have, doing what I love – watching Breaking Bad and playing Call of Duty.
The virus which was first discovered in The Democratic Republic of the Congo in the 1970’s, is an extremely dangerous infection that scientists believe is hosted and transmitted from animals native to Africa.
Brian’s travel history show’s that he hasn’t left the country since he was 12 when he and his family went to The Giant’s Causeway for a day trip, adding to the mystery of how he got infected in the first place.
Brian, who is now making his way through Season 3 of the hit series Breaking Bad, has asked for some privacy in his time of need, so that he can try and complete the entire box set before the virus makes him completely incapacitated.
