Energy drinks company Red Bull have today announced that they will be teaming up with international food chain Nando’s as part of their overall marketing strategy to give customers wings.
Red Bull have come under criticism over the last number of years, for misleading customers by advertising completely false claims about the benefits of their product. Red Bull have said for years that they “give you wings”, but after numerous complaints, they were forced to either drop the offer, or to actually provide customers with what they were in fact advertising.
Change
The drinks company finally decided to change their approach, after a recent stunt finally revealed to millions of people around the world that the brand does not actually give you wings. Felix Baumgartner went to the edge of space in a weather balloon and skydived back down to Earth using only a parachute to land.
Executives at the company then realised that the entire project was a complete contradiction to the company’s slogan as no wings were used in the ascent, or decent.
But, rather than re-brand a slogan that is known internationally, they thought it better to form a new international strategic partnership with a company that has the resources in place to offer wings to consumers on a mass scale.
Extreme Waiters
Nando’s have agreed to come on board with Red Bull and will be incorporating some of Red Bull’s brand into their stores internationally.
Waiters in Nando’s will now be replaced with experienced parkour runners, who will be bringing customers their food while dangerously jumping over tables and wearing HD GoPros on their heads at all times.
Nando’s feel that the new Extreme Waiters will add to the uniqueness of the customer’s experience and should be a welcomed addition by all.
People should see the in store changes over the next 6 months.
