Women around Ireland today have expressed their delight with the recent comments the Catholic Bishops have made regarding the proposed abortion legislation. The group of men, none of who have any experience or knowledge in any part of the reproductive cycle, thought they were the appropriate body to make public comments and recommendations on what women should do with their lives.
The Primate Sean Brady, who was previously caught up in covering up the child abuse scandals in Ireland spoke on behalf of the Church saying that abortion legislation is “morally unacceptable“.
When we spoke to one woman, who was still caught in two minds about the entire debate she said:
I’m delighted that a group of men have made up my mind for me. I was so stressed before, trying to see things form both sides, but now I don’t have to think about it and can go back to playing with kittens and smiling at fluffy clouds!
Women, who have long been second class citizens in the eyes of the church, have thankfully one less thing to worry about now.
So, whether you’re Pro Life or Pro Choice, it does not appear to matter anyway. Listen to the church as they clearly know what’s best and have done a fantastic job of protecting the lives of children in the past.
