Today marks the launch of the first ever, annual Moob Safety Week here in Ireland. Launched by the Moob Appreciation Network (MAN), it aims to raise awareness of the problem and to promote safe care of moobs in Ireland.
The safety week was launched after numerous reports of moobs being burned and damaged during the heatwave were reported. Many men took off their tops in the sun and exposed their sensitive moob areas to the extreme heat.
Moobs are an incredibly sensitive part of the male body and can get sun damage far quicker than most other parts. This is due because for the majority of an Irishman’s life, the moob remains hidden from direct sunlight, protected by several layers of clothing.
This then causes a reduction in the amount of melanin that is present in the moob skin layers. Melanin is responsible for helping to repair skin damage from UV radiation and can dissipate up to 99% of the radiation as heat, preventing any adverse damage.
Top Tips To Protect Your Moobs
To combat the reduced melanin levels, MAN have issued a number of safety tips to help men protect their moobs during the hot weather:
- Cup Your Moob: If out enjoying the sun topless always take some time to cup your moobs with your own hands for several minutes. This will relieve the moob from direct exposure to the sun and reduce the risk of damage to it.
- Hairy Moobs: Let the hair around the nipple area and overall man breast area grow. This will serve to protect and reflect some of the damaging sun rays that may affect it.
- Motorboat The Moobs: Get someone to motorboat your moobs if you cannot do it yourself. Motorboating the moobs has been shown to stimulate recovery of the moobs on a cellular level, and the pleasure from getting it done, will help increase serotonin levels, that again will speed up recovery and help damage repaired moob tissue cells.
MAN are hoping that they help to prevent further moob damage by raising awareness about the issue and educating Irish men on some simple safety practises that they can employ.
