Abortion Bill Amended To Include Pregnant Women Bitten By Zombies

Abortion legislation Ireland 2013

Minister for health Dr James ‘Teenwolf’ Reilly has announced that the Protection of Life During Pregnancy Bill has been amended to allow for abortion when a pregnant woman is bitten by a Zombie and the unborn child contracts the zombie virus.

The minister said that while these cases were rare he still had a duty to legislate on them to provide legal clarity for doctors, midwives and people with axes. The Supreme Court had already ruled that this was constitutional in the 90’s following the controversial Z case.

Former Minister for European Affairs Lucinda Creighton opposed the move saying any zombie babies born could be kept in an isolated, secure barn and fed live chickens until a cure could be found. Dana also objected saying that women should not lead zombies on by having so much skin on show all the time which gives the impression they are there to be bitten.

The Dáil debated the numerous amendments early into the morning and will continue to do so today when the bar reopens.

More as it breaks.
