Welshman Garreth Bale is set to be delighted about getting the call up to the Lions squad ahead of Saturdays final test match against Australia.
The decision to give Bale the call up has come after a string of controversial moves from manager Warren Gatland. Gatland has already dropped Brian O’Driscoll and Jamie Heaslip from the match day squads entirely. The decision has sparked such outrage that thousands of Pro-BOD supporters will be taking to the streets to this Friday to protest the move.
Speaking earlier Bale said:
I’m really looking forward to joining the squad and making as much of an impact as I can. I’m nursing a slight hamstring injury at the moment, but using a secret blend of Holly, gullibility and fish oils to help alleviate the strain.
Garreth Bale is one of the top premiership footballers in England, playing for Tottenham Hotspur but nearly made the decision not to become a professional, as he was an extremely talented carpenter and wanted to open his own business selling a range of wooden clocks.
Fortunately he put down his smoothing plane and picked up his boots and has been hugely successful since.
Bale’s career is now set to take another step forward and all reports suggest that Gatland will be starting him blindside flanker against the Australians this Saturday.
