Bad news for Edward Snowden fans as it appears that his plans to visit Ireland have hit a rather large set back.
Edward Snowden was attempting to make arrangements to travel to Ireland as part of The Gathering and it was hoped that his visit would bring a much needed boost to Irish tourism.
But while making plans, government officials revealed that Mosney was in fact fully booked and would not be able to provide accommodation for the lone fugitive.
Mosney has been a popular destination for asylum seekers in Ireland for many years and is one of the busiest resorts in the world for those who wish to flee their countries.
Snowden was unable to secure a last minute booking and will now unfortunately have to find somewhere else to stay.
It is thought that he may apply to the People’s Republic of Coppers, the independent state in Dublin to seek asylum there too. Snowden has been made aware that Copperface Jacks is a completely separate legal country, with it’s own time-zone, internal governing policies and very rarely refuses anyone.
Snowden is expected to contact them in the coming hours, but sources have informed him that once he’s able to walk up to the door, successfully hide his naggin and pretend to know Cathal he should be fine.
More on this as it breaks.
