Leaked reports obtained recently by The Potato from the Central Administrations Office shows that this year, science courses are expected to surge in points, mainly due to the popularity caused by Breaking Bad.
Breaking Bad returned last night and is a show about how learning chemistry to an extremely high standard can help make you into a badass murdering drug king with rooms full of money.
Over the years, science had fallen in points as the demand for places dropped. However this year there is expected to be a huge demand for science courses, as budding young students take the first step towards becoming talented producers of Methamphetamine.
Speaking to one Leaving Cert student today, they commented:
I wana do science next year. I just wana learn how to make a really high quality batch of meth. Some of the stuff that I’ve made recently from washing up liquid, petrol and alcohol has been ok, but nothing near the standard that I want. If I can get a good working knowledge of chemistry, I’ll be sorted and be able to produce some top quality meth that will really help me stand out from the competition – lord knows there loads already!
The Department of Education has also welcomed the increase in popularity the show has brought science courses in Ireland and hopes that it should help foster the next generation of innovators and international trade dealers here in Ireland.
Minister for Education Ruairí Quinn said:
It’s encouraging to see so many students with a new found interest in science. Hopefully many of them will be able to apply their new skills and begin dealing during college, as it may be the only way they’ll actually be able to afford their fees. Which we’ll be increasing every year anyway.
It appears that after emigrating, drug dealing is the next most popular career choice people in Ireland are being forced to make. No exact figure was given about how high the science points will be this year, but sources hinted at the possibility that they could be in the mid to high 500’s.
