Developers at EA Sports have just announced that Peamount United’s Stephanie Roche will be added to FIFA 14, when they release the game’s next software update.
Roche’s scored one of the goals of the season over the weekend and her amazing strike was thankfully recorded and uploaded to YouTube, when it has since gone viral.
Numerous media outlets shared the video and it has now clocked up over 200,000 views in just a couple of days.
Roche will now feature in the Fifa 14 Legends section, alongside other greats such as a Pelé, Messi, Fowler and Bergkamp. Programmers at EA Sports say they have included her signature strike in the game, which players will be able to unlock and replicate during matches.
Roche will now become the first ever woman to be featured as a player in the game and is already ranked higher in Fifa 14 than any other Irish male player – although that’s not that too hard of a feat to achieve.
Programmers also say that the introduction of a female into the game, has added an interesting dynamic to Fifa 14’s new “Chemistry” feature.
The chemistry feature determines how players on the pitch interact and now that a female is included, it may see some of the players trying to get the shift off Roche on the pitch during the games.
Players of Fifa 14 will be able to unlock Roche in the Legends section when the new updates gets released at the end of the month.
