A lethargic and dispassionate 26 year old Galway man has decided to not bother setting any New Year’s resolutions, so that he can successfully avoid any setbacks or disappointments in 2014.

His decision comes after failures in the past where he tried to make positive improvements in his life, but gave up after running into the first few initial setbacks.
Speaking to The Potato, he commented:
“The only thing resolutions and poxy goals lead to is disappointment. Why set yourself up for failure?! It doesn’t make any sense at all and sure if you feel the need to change or improve yourself, then you’re not actually happy are you?! I’m grand and happy out in life, so why would I need to change?!”
The unemployed man went on to comment further that there is no point in giving yourself false hope, when you know deep down inside you’re not going to achieve what you set out to achieve.
The Galway man has decided to not challenge himself to improve his life, rather than deal with his personal shortcomings. He claims it’s easier to lower your standards in life, than to take a close, hard and upsetting look at oneself that will in the long-term help affect a change.
He will also be trying to enlighten his close friends and family to his new view on the world by regularly challenging them on their own goals, by asking them: “Sure why would ya be arsed doing that anyway?!“.
