Manchester United have confirmed today that David Moyes has been let go as manager of the club and will be replaced immediately.
United lost their 3rd match in a row last night, something that hasn’t happened the club in 13 years. They lost the first leg of the Capital One Cup match against bottom of the league side Sunderland, forcing the board to take action.
Pressure had been mounting on Moyes in recent days when it was revealed that Paddy Power were paying out on them being relegated this season.
Manchester United made the announcement via their Twitter account with a press conference expected this afternoon.
Roy Keane has had a long and passionate history with United and with dogs. Unfortunately he is currently involved in the Republic of Ireland’s set up and was not available to be considered for the position at Old Trafford.
However, his German Shepard was available.
It is believed that the club has more confidence and belief in Keane’s dog than they do in Moyes and the canine is expected to take over immediately. He’ll more than likely do a better job too.
United fans have had mixed reactions to the news, as most of them were in the process of jumping ships over the last few days.
Speaking to The Potato, one fan commented with:
I’m really not that sure how I feel. I just trying to figure out how to start supporting one of the other top 3 clubs. I didn’t support United to lose games, I supported them so I could be a loud annoying prick down the pub every Saturday and gloat to all my mates in true wanker fashion.
It’s unclear how many fans Manchester United will wind up losing this year and it could spell huge financial trouble for the club.
the board is expected to hold a press conference this afternoon, where the new manager, Keane’s German Shepard, will be officially revealed as the new man in charge.
