Journalist John Waters, the man who claims that allowing gay marriage could be “potentially destructive of the very fabric of Irish society”, has been a vicitim of a recent “Straight Bashing” incident in Dublin.
Waters has long opposed allowing the gay community the same rights as everyone else and claims that he is not homophobic, even though he actually is.
An avid proponent of Orwell’s Doublethink, Waters was left hospitalised after a group of gay men attacked him, apparently just because he is straight.
The incident happened in Dublin’s City Centre, when 6 men, dressed as the Village People, began dancing around Waters while singing the Y.M.C.A.
Waters tried to defend himself by spraying the group with Holy Water and recounting passages from the Bible, but all to no avail. As soon as the jovial group broke into “Macho Man“, Waters suffered a severe heart attack and brain embolism.
The trauma caused by being near so many gay people nearly killed the journalist and he was rushed to hospital, where his condition is still being treated as critical – and severely homophobic.
Evidence suggests more and more homophobic people are being attacked in the city centre by hoards of gay people and they are calling on the government to take action to prevent heterosexual people being the victims of Straight Bashings while out minding their own business in public.
They should be able to live in a country, free from the fear of being attacked physically for nothing more than their sexual orientation.
Updates on John Waters condition as we get them.
